Club Description:
Help Open People's Eyes (H.O.P.E.) provides students with the opportunity to learn about the harmful effects of substance abuse. It is a club open to any student who is interested in helping to prevent abuse at SHS. Group discussions and role-plays, various speakers, and videos provided. Students then participate in activities that educate other teenagers about risks of substance abuse.

Club Description:
H.U.G.S. (Help Unite Gays and Straights) is open to all students at SHS. This group promotes tolerance through education and discussion. Members participate in fundraising and awareness raising activities. This fun, lively group offers support to gay, lesbian, bi-sexual or trans-gender students and to their straight friends as well. The H.U.G.S. meets Thursdays after school in the Health Center.
