Friends of Stamford High, also known as FOSH, are the parent/teacher organization at Stamford High School. A 501c3 nonprofit organization, it is a member of the Parent/Teacher Council of Stamford. All families, staff, students, and alumni of Stamford High are members. Through membership dues and fundraising activities, FOSH annually sponsors an alcohol-and-drug-free After Prom Party after the Senior Prom for all Stamford High seniors and their dates, a Junior/Senior Fashion Show, Environment Day, the Dare to Dream teacher grant program, a Student/Faculty Basketball Game, teacher appreciation celebrations, a Senior Class picnic and other social and educational events. It promotes school spirit through its Booster Club and also produces the Stamford High Calendar, a parents’ handbook called Knightlife, and a parents’ newsletter called the Knightly News. FOSH annually awards scholarships to graduating seniors with strong academic records who have made outstanding contributions to the Stamford High community. The FOSH Vice President of Outreach oversees the Friends of Stamford High Alumni Association. |
