FOSH is the Parent-Teacher Organization at SHS. FOSH provides a vehicle for active involvement of parents, faculty and students in promoting school spirit and a positive educational, athletic and social environment. Additionally, FOSH encourages cooperation among parents, faculty and students in carrying out their responsibilities as well as improving communication between home and school and promoting community involvement and support of the school.
All parents, guardians, faculty members (teachers and staff), students, and alumni of Stamford High School are members. In addition to an executive committee, standing committees have been established to carry out the activities and purposes of the organization. Anyone wishing to participate is invited to do so.
There are general meetings held during the year providing factual updates on school conditions and subjects of interest. The dates of these meetings are listed in this calendar.
Voluntary tax-deductible contributions to FOSH enable funding for supporting student activities, scholarships for leadership development, college scholarships, participation in community organizations such as Parent-Teacher Council, school beautification efforts, teacher appreciation efforts, newsletter mailings, and miscellaneous requests that would otherwise be unmet.
These contributions also provide for an annual, safe After-Prom Party for seniors and their guests. The perennially popular Fashion Show, in which junior and senior couples model and dance will, with the support of volunteers, continue to be a part of SHS tradition. Annually, FOSH creates this student handbook/calendar and funds this.
FOSH relies on the generous help of countless parents and is only limited by the number of volunteers who are willing to be involved. FOSH welcomes comments and suggestions.

FOSH Scholarship Program
Each year FOSH is proud to present a scholarship to deserving students from the Stamford High School graduating class. The FOSH Scholarship Program has been created to celebrate and rewards students who demonstrate exceptional service to SHS. She scholarships are cash awards that are to be used toward post-secondary tuition or school fees.
Any senior student who will be attending a college, university or accredited trade school directly after high school graduation and who has maintained a minimum of 2.5 GPA on their cumulative high school transcript, is eligible for the scholarship selection process.
